We have all heard some CEOs and corporate spokespeople deliver ineffective crisis communications statements. Whether the public statement was written for them or they decided to “wing it,” the cliches, the lack of emotion, and the scripted delivery will forever negatively affect their organization’s reputation and revenue. You may have even seen some written apologies, or multiple public written apologies such as in the crisis scenario of United Airlines just last week.
