Some communicators are still trying to make a case to their executives to use social media for their organization.  They may be trying to persuade their senior level executives or their board members that social media is not just a form of outbound marketing, but it can be used strategically for crisis communications and media relations.     Hi Gerard! Great info. I’m a social media trainer too, and I still cannot believe the number of organizations that put social media and IT. handcuffs on their communicators because they don’t take the time to understand how this is not just a “thing”…it is a major, normal part of the way people communicate (and organizations should!). And most of them are oblivious to the next big thing in social media that is here now: livestreaming from your smartphone/tablet on Periscope, the fastest-growing social media app (zero to 20-million users is 6 months) and how it can benefit them!
