News releases are not dead. Their audience has just changed. While every news release may not be newspaper/magazine article or TV story worthy, they are a valuable tool that helps governments and businesses reach an engaged audience. As websites offer opt-in services, governments and businesses can build their non-traditional brand ambassador base to those who opt-in so they can carry the company message to their friends, families and neighbors.
